Tuberculosis of stomach Accompanied with Bleeding

Abstract
A case of tuberculosis of stomach accompanied with bleeding is presented here with review of literature.
A 31 years old Korean man admitted with hematoemesis and nausea. Medical treatment was performed
for 14 days under the diagnosis of peptic ulcer, but bleeding wasn¢¥ts controlled.
Subtotal gstrectomy and gastrojejunostomy was performed in Hoffmaster¢¥s method. The stomach was
adhered with neighbor organs at pyloric area and omentum also attached to abdominal wall. In gross
apperance there was no induration of the stomach wall and no lymphones enlargement around stomach.
Other organs were normal in appearance.
At microscopic examination the section shows atrophic mucous membrane and lamina propia is
infilterated diffuse or nodulary with small round cells. There are noted two tubercles composed with
epitheloid cells, a few gians cells and lymphocytes in the mucosa. The submucosal layer was intacr
Post operatively antituberculous medication started and the patient did well and bleeding controlled.
The patient was discharged in good condition on the eleventh post operative day.
